Chinoiserie Planters

This is not a post about Domino. She just happens to be blocking the shot of these gorgeous chinoiserie planters y’all ask me about all the time, so here are the deets:

  • I purchased these planters from Canterbury Cottage Antiques, a local antiques store, though the planters themselves are not antique pieces. They are verrrry similar to the Frontgate ones everyone is obsessed with, though they were (lucky me) a bit less expensive.

  • They did not come with drainage holes, so we had to put them in ourselves, and by “ourselves” I mean Larsen drilled them with the help of a YouTube tutorial while I held my breath & panicked. All’s well that ends well!

  • The trees currently planted in them are gardenias. We’ve tried boxwood spirals (twice) but our terrace has proven too shady, and I’ve also done white mums for seasonal flair. These gardenias will soon come inside for the winter as they do not care for frost.

I’ve curated a shop of my favorite planters, chinoiserie and otherwise, that you can shop below!
